What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems.

Sarah Worthy is a Supervisee in Social Work who has experience providing therapeutic care in theindividual and group setting for adolescents and adults struggling with a variety of issuesincluding depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief and loss, anger management, trauma,relational problems, and life transitions. Sarah completed her Bachelor of Arts in Conflict Analysisand Resolution at George Mason University and received her Master s degree in Social Work and Certificate in Gender Violence Intervention from Virginia Commonwealth University. Sheapplies a person-centered and strengths-based approach with her clients. She utilizesmodels such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solutions-based therapy, and psychodynamictherapy. Sarah understands that each client has their own unique set of needs and tailors hertherapeutic interventions accordingly. Shestrives to create an honest and supportive environment in order to ensure that the clientis able to achieve their goals and facilitate healing.
