What does a first session with you look like?

I am very direct in my approach to therapy. Rather than tell you what to do, I am here to help guide you through your struggles and provide you with the tools to reach your goals. Once we establish a rapport and trust and I know more about how you operate as an individual, I will give you homework. I determine the best interventions and theoretical orientation for you to succeed, then present it to you to see if you agree it is a good fit. The goals are developed together as you do the work. I like to use both play and art therapy for children and adults alike because it is important to connect to the creative and artistic sides in each of us.

I mentioned some already, yet for example, for trauma, the modalities I use in working are Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Psychodynamics, Exposure Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Stress Inoculation Training, Present Centered Therapy, and Narrative Exposure Therapy.
