What does a first session with you look like?
Our first session will consist of going over assessments and discussing the results as well as discussing what you view as the problems in your life, techniques, you have used and how these have worked for you. We will discuss your level of commitment to changing the problem and the behaviors that maintain the disfunction, as well as a plan.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I utilize a Humanistic approach which uses a range of different types of therapy that focuses on a person as an individual with unique potential and abilities. Instead of concentrating on what is wrong with people, this type of therapy is more focused on helping you overcome your difficulties through personal growth. My style of counseling is direct but respectful and involves discussion, role plays, and homework assignments to practice skills learned and their effectiveness.
