Your first session with me will be me trying to get to know you and what has brought you to therapy in the first place. This is a courageous first step that you have taken in trying to gain control of your life! It can be stressful, scary, and make you feel vulnerable. You'll be so happy after taking that first step and I hope that you will walk away feeling some sense of comfort and relief from meeting with me. We'll discuss some goals and begin working towards making a plan on how we can work together to help you achieve these goals.

I love using solution focused techniques to identify the problem(s) you're having and begin discussing ways that could improve the situation. I use mindfulness and cognitive behaviorial therapy to help you make connections on how your thoughts impact your mood and behaviors, while also helping you lean into these feelings with mindfulness techniques. I am also deeply rooted in psychodynamic therapy and I like to help you make meaning out of why you're feeling the way that you are or why you fall into these patterns. However, I like to use the solution focused techniques to help you get unstuck from those patterns. I also utilize humor often. Sometimes we just have to laugh to get through difficult times.
