What does a first session with you look like?

After your initial intake, I will help you understand the impact your life experiences may have had on your neurobiology, which can lead to dysregulation of your autonomic nervous system. In simpler terms, I will help you understand how the things that have happened in your life may shape how you respond to the world around you, sometimes negatively. Working together, we will focus on identifying the strategies that are most beneficial to you in modifying these negative feelings and behaviors into more constructive and desired outcomes. For those looking to strengthen their relationships, I offer comprehensive assessments and tools through The Gottman Institute to help fortify your relationships and build skills to manage potential conflicts that may arise.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I tailor treatment approaches for each individual based on their unique needs. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and I utilize evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches to work with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, grief, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, as well as a variety of other conditions that may be impacting your well-being. For individuals, couples, or families hoping to strengthen their relationships, I have completed Level 1 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and I utilize principles and strategic tools offered through The Gottman Institute, as well as other evidence-based family therapy approaches.
