What does a first session with you look like?
During our first session, we will work together to determine your presenting problems, core issues, preferences, and therapeutic goals in order to develop a treatment plan that will address your unique needs. I will provide you with education regarding my background, approach, the therapeutic process, discuss logistics, and answer any questions that you may have. I will utilize assessments to determine your core issues, symptoms, and baseline for treatment planning purposes. My goal is to help peel the layers to get to the root of your pain and suffering, and address these utilizing evidence-based approaches. I will provide you with a calming presence and safe space, where you will leave feeling heard, understood, and empowered.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I employ a trauma-informed approach that addresses trauma and empowers clients to grow from their experiences and become more aware, confident, and resilient. Specifically, I utilize EMDR therapy, along with other evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), to not only heal wounds but provide you with concrete skills and tools to implement positive changes in your life.
