What does a first session with you look like?
The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. What is your style/approach to therapy?
I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. When it comes to your mental and emotional health, you want an experienced, attentive, and compassionate professional who will partner with you on your journey to healing. Together, I am confident we will develop a treatment plan to help you achieve your goals and reach optimal health and wellness.
What should we know about your experiences and background?
Stephanie is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) trained to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients across the lifespan. She is very passionate about mental health and its impact on well-being. Stephanie works with individuals in all different stages of life who struggle with behaviors, thoughts, and emotions that prevent them from living the life they want. She can help you experience freedom from the overwhelming hardships making your life difficult to enjoy. Stephanie offers a full range of services to help maximize mental wellness! She provides psychiatric evaluations, assessments, diagnostic reasoning, psychotherapies, and medication management to both adolescent and adult clients.She will work with you to determine the risks and benefits of starting, continuing, or stopping medications and refine complex medication regimens to yield fewer side effects and achieve goals. Stephanie provides education about difficulties, diagnoses, and treatment options, offers academic recommendations, and manages complex psychiatric illnesses. She incorporates other treatment modalities such as vitamins, spiritual support, dietary and lifestyle modifications, relaxation training, stress reduction, and mindfulness. Stephanie works with various conditions, including, but not limited to: depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, and stress-related disorders, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders, sleep disorders, disruptive, impulse-control and conduct disorders, neurodevelopmental and neurocognitive disorders, dissociative disorders, somatic symptom disorders, schizophrenia spectrum, other psychotic disorders, and substance-related and addictive disorders. Stephanie has over a decade of experience in mental health and chemical dependency. She has experience with inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, outpatient, telepsychiatry, and crisis intervention. Stephanie decided to pursue her career in advanced practice to support patients further and deliver personalized care to each. She graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Her integrative approach to treatment allows her to deliver holistic and patient-centered care. Stephanie possesses advanced knowledge and clinical skills to provide continuous, comprehensive, holistic, and client-centered care to a diverse population. She aspires to help people live happily and prevail through life's challenges. Stephanie uses evidence-based treatment practices, works collaboratively with her clients, and coordinates care with other health professionals as needed to identify the most effective treatment options. She addresses each individual's needs with a treatment approach that uses specialized and creative interventions based on the client's specific needs. She offers individualized treatment plans to include family, cultural, spiritual, psychological, and environmental factors, promoting growth, healing, well-being, and increased functioning to achieve optimal mental health.
