What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. I am a strength-based professional who will be your personal cheerleader for your emotional growth and healing!

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Stephanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida with 10 years of experience working with adults, children, and families. Stephanie works with adults to treat anxiety, depression, and trauma to include domestic violence and recent or childhood abuse. She also partners with clients to address childhood disorders including oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder and accompanying parental support, ADHD in children, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma. She is comfortable with populations with experiences in the child welfare or foster care system, juvenile justice, or a history of incarceration. Stephanie received a bachelor's degree in social work from Western Michigan University and a Master s in Social Work from the University of South Florida. She uses a nurturing, strength-based approach in treatment and utilizes cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, mindfulness, behavior management, and EMDR in treatment. She loves to be creative and will use art or play therapy approaches with your child or teen, when appropriate. Creativity also isn t limited to working with just children. Above all, Stephanie recognizes each person and their needs as unique and in need of an individualized approach. She will bring energy to the treatment space along with a warm and caring spirit, working with you to meet your goals. Stephanie wants the best for you or your child and will be your cheerleader to get you there!
