The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. Stephanie's clinical experience includes helping children (aged 5-12), teenagers (aged 13-18) and adults (aged 18+) to develop coping mechanisms and make lifestyle changes to better manage symptoms and difficulties associated with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma, substance use, etc. Stephanie completed both herBachelor of Science (BS) in Psychologyand her Master of Science (MS) in Counseling Psychologyat Frostburg State University.She maintains professional certifications as a Clinical Depression and Mood Disorder Treatment Professional and as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. To assist clients in the best way she can, Stephanie also draws techniques from other theoretical approaches such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and motivational interviewing. Stephanie's goal is always to create a safe, accepting, and comfortable environment, which can foster growth in self-awareness and self-acceptance and help you feel empowered in the therapeutic process. She believes to make lasting progress in therapy, it is important to establish a strong therapeutic relationship with you through genuine understanding, empathy, and unconditional positive regard.
