What does a first session with you look like?
The first few sessions we will focus on getting to know each other and building rapport. I want to earn your trust and help you feel safe while objectively helping you identify and explore stressors motivating treatment. You can expect a combination of psycho-education and practical strategies that will help you feel in control.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I am trained in Trauma focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which is highly successful for treating recurrent depression, anxiety, marital problems, among other mood disorders. I also use a combination of mindfulness techniques (e.g., art therapy, yoga, meditation), motivational tolls to encourage change and holistic suggestions including nutrition and functional skills.
