What does a first session with you look like?
Have you ever experienced a time when a provider would not listen to you? Or a time when a provider completely dismissed your concerns and ignored everything that you had to say concerning your own mental or physical health and then continued with their thoughts and plans for you? Well, today you have found a provider who will listen to your problems and concerns and who is willing to assist in providing the best care to you. Let me walk on this journey with you. This is your journey. Your needs will be met. Your voice will be heard. Together we can work out a treatment plan that is specifically tailored to you and your needs. I will prescribe medications for you to help you through one of the most difficult times in your life. You need help and I am here to assist you.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
In my position, I am a prescriber, and as a prescriber, it is my job to hear what you have to say and listen to the symptoms that you describe that have affected your mood, thinking ability, and inability to interact with others the way that you would like. As your prescriber, I would then be able to match your symptoms with medications that can manage the symptoms.
