What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Terri is a licensed psychotherapist since 1989, specializing in the treatment of substance use disorders. Terri's clinical experience informs her belief that addictions develop as the result of learned helplessness in the context of unproductive family dynamics. She is an intensively trained family therapist, having studied four years under Linda Anderson, LCSW, a Salvador Minuchin trained family therapist. Terri takes a supportive, person-centered approach in working with clients to resolve the issues that are bringing them to treatment. Other methods used: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Grief Therapy, Trauma Informed therapy, Family Systems Therapy and Child and Adolescent therapy.
