What does a first session with you look like?
The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. If at first you don't succeed, laugh until you do!
What should we know about your experiences and background?
Tiffany Roddy is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 9 years of experience in various areas of the mental health field. As someone who has overcome trauma, loss, and abuse, she is passionate about helping others do the same. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Nicholls State University in 2013 and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nicholls State University in 2015. She has undergone additional training in counseling, proven a high level of expertise, and maintains a high level of professionalism which has therefore earned her a Board Certification from NBCC which better qualifies her to practice compared to a non-board certified counselor. Tiffany has received positive reviews from clients of various different backgrounds, sexual orientations, cultures, and religious beliefs. Regardless of who you are, her goal is to help you reach yours. She approaches counseling in an accepting and non-judgmental way; past clients have referred to her as "genuine", "kind", "relatable", and "versatile." Tiffany is a married mother of two small children she understands the stressors of balancing work and family. She started her career and marriage at the same time COVID began. This, coupled with her professional experience, enables her to provide the guidance and support her clients are seeking. She utilizes multiple treatment approaches including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. As each client has different needs, she will be able to determine which approach suits your best. She can teach you skills like self-care, setting healthy boundaries, and communicating effectively. As someone who has been in therapy before, she never underestimates how important encouragement and unconditional support are while working together as a team. If you are ready to do the work, schedule your appointment today!
