What does a first session with you look like?
Oftentimes we feel like others don't listen or get us-you can expect to be heard by me. After sessions with me, my hope is that you feel better than when we started. Overtime my goal with every client is that they feel better equipped to handle the difficulties of life.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I use evidenced based methods from cognitive behavioral therapy, strategies from dialectical behavior therapy, and the focus on increasing personal awareness. I believe in the practice of staying in the present moment to decrease distress (depression, anxiety, etc...) by using mindfulness exercises. I know there is not a one-size-fits-all approach and I will work with you to determine the best treatment and tools for you.
