You are in a safe space to share your emotions and feelings. We will discuss confidentiality, the limits of thereof, and my reporting requirements. Our session focuses on what brought you here, medical history, family background, employment, and your support system. We will discuss goals to formulate a treatment plan. Success in therapy starts the minute you make the courageous decision to call a counselor. Courage is shown by: (1) acknowledging a situation that needs to be changed and (2) understanding that you can facilitate that change. Together we will discuss your goals. You are provided with a host of tools for your ‘toolbox’ throughout the counseling process. You will continue using these tools on your own as progress is made and, when ready, after our therapy concludes!
