What does a first session with you look like?
You can expect to answer questions about yourself during the first session. I will be getting to know you, your symptoms, how you cope, and what you want to gain from therapy. You can expect to discuss your goals and develop a treatment plan. After each session, we will review the key points, state at least one positive, and discuss what worked well and what did not, and the plan for the week until the next session.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I used cognitive behavioral therapy to address irrational thoughts and feelings. Mindfulness is utilized to help clients stay focused on the present and one thing at a time. Exposure therapy is implemented with clients experiencing high stress and anxiety.
