What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. I truly believe the greatest journey you can take is one that leads you to self-discovery; it is unnerving while enlightening, and you don't have to do it alone.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Tracey has had the pleasure of working with a wide age range of clients, exploring how each developmental stage has its own set of challenges and revelations. The bulk of Tracey's experience has been helping clients work through the complexities of trauma and grief, as well as the battles of profound chronic illness. Tracey's experience extends to people facing challenging emotions and mood states such as depression and anxiety, and those facing unhealthy relationship patterns and difficulty creating healthy boundaries. Tracey will support clients as they adjust to extraordinary life transitions and/or work through tough decisions. Tracey firmly believes there is great value in dedicating space and time to process challenging thoughts and feelings, adjust to difficult changes, or simply tell your story free of judgment and bias. Tracey completed her Master of Social Work from New York University. Tracey is client-centered, strength-based, and relational in her approach, as she believes the therapeutic relationship is the arena in which meaningful work will occur. Tracey is an empathic and active listener and will provide insight and feedback that can be put into action. Tracey works from a psychodynamic framework and utilizes the internal family systems framework; she believes that early experiences impact how we relate to others and how we navigate life s circumstances. Tracey will apply cognitive behavioral techniques when appropriate. A core aspect of Tracey's approach is honoring social and cultural context, as our unique identities play a powerful role in our relationships and our environments. Tracey values individual experience and is passionate about helping clients engage in the world in a way that works best for them. She welcomes humor and believes in the strength of the human spirit. Schedule an appointment with Tracey to begin your journey to your healthiest self.
