What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. Through talk therapy I help individuals to discover a deeper awareness and understanding of creating passion and motivation in their lives.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Tyler Connolly is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with 7 years of experience in the mental health field. Working with adolescents and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings, Tyler has assisted individuals dealing with a wide range of issues including depressed moods, attention difficulties, anxiety, relationships, communication, loss, executive functioning, and various life changes. Tyler completed his Master of Science (MS) in Mental Health and Counseling at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He utilizes talk therapy and active listening in addition to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, motivational therapy, and Gestalt therapy. Allow Tyler to use his passion for helping individuals through psychotherapy while you begin your journey to discover your own passions and motivations. "You can't manufacture passion or 'motivate' people to feel passionate. You can only discover what ignites your passion and the passions of those around you." -Jim Collins
