The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. As a woman of color, I was drawn to the counseling profession through my passion for uplifting and empowering women and helping them through their journey of healing.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Virginia is a Resident in Counseling and has 10 years of experience working with both adults and children suffering from depression, stress, anger, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD. She uses a client-centered and strength-based counseling approach and will collaborate with you on effective treatment planning. Achieving happiness and gaining a sense of normalcy can be accomplished with the right tools and having someone such as Virginia to support you compassionately and without judgment. Virginia went to South University for a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling. She also has an MBA from DeVry University, Keller School of Business. Virginia utilizes multiple treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques. Virginia is very passionate about bringing families together and helping to create a cohesive and nurturing household and helping individuals through their journey of healing.
