What does a first session with you look like?
My hope is that clients will be able to build a rapport with me, effectively process their issue, and help guide/empower clients to solutions that they decide to use in their lives.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach to counseling is simple. I work with the client to empower them to take control of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT treatment involves efforts to change behavioral patterns using strategies to include: Facing one’s fears instead of avoiding them; Using role playing to prepare for potentially problematic interactions with others; Learning to calm one’s mind and relax one’s body. I also use Motivational Interview and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
