Under Clinical Supervision

Wendy Hollinger, Resident, 123 is practicing under the supervision of Tykeyia Byrd (New Jersey, LCSW, 44SC05730800) at Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry Edison.

Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training to become supervisors. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.

What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Wendy Hollinger is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) who has over 7 years of experience assisting adolescents, adults, and seniors to better manage the effects of anger, depression, anxiety, poor communication, or underdeveloped-coping skills. Wendy earned her Master's degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. She identifies as a therapist, mother, wife, daughter, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, and co-worker. Wearing all of these hats has taught her to value relationships. As a therapist, she is also a firm believer that all relationships begin with the individual. Self-awareness is the first step to a better understanding of oneself and an essential element of relating to others and the world we live in. If you're seeking to resolve internal or external conflicts or overcome past experiences that may have you feeling stuck, Wendy's ultimate goal is to help you unpack what may be holding you back. She'll assist you in developing the skills and strategies to help you feel empowered and on the road to living a positive, productive and purposeful life. It's her hope that her compassionate and humorous nature, along with a supportive and non-judgmental environment will help put you at ease.
