What does a first session with you look like?

"Lighter" to mean they feel the heaviness of their burdens weighs less on them... "Empowered" to mean they feel motivated to make changes in their lives for the better... "Heard" to mean their concerns, fears, thoughts, and emotions have been validated and understood... "Smarter" to mean they walk away with legitimate coping skills and strategies that they can immediately begin using... and finally... "Healed" to mean they have made changes to their lives that will help them propel themselves into a life of positivity and peace.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I utilize several different approaches to providing therapy and counseling to individuals. I believe that our psychological problems result from the present-day influences of unconscious psychological drives or motivations stemming from childhood, past relationships and experiences (Psychodynamic Theory). I also believe in the Cognitive and Behavioral approach that teaches us how our life experiences affect how we think, and how we feel, and certainly shape how we behave. Specifically, I can deliver the following treatment methods: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia and Chronic Pain Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for Emotional Regulation, Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Mindfulness Skills and Strategies Prolonged Exposure (PE) for Trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
