What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. As a black, married, millennial, heterosexual, queer ally woman, I am open and ready to partner with you while listening, educating you, holding you accountable, and guiding you in creating solutions to your concerns.

Whitney is passionate about working with individuals to address their unique challenges and concerns to help them learn new techniques to overcome those challenges. Whitney completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) at The Ohio State University. She has ample experience with managing and steering others as they progress through life transitions, career changes or transitions, and the various nuances associated with acquiring higher education. Whitney has also much experience with managing, processing, and coping with grief. These experiences enable Whitney to empower and guide others through her utilization of multiple treatment approaches which include solution-focused brief therapy, unconditional positive regard, person-centered therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
