What does a first session with you look like?
During our first session (intake), we’ll discuss what brings you to therapy and some of your history. From there, we’ll devise a personalized treatment plan and work to establish goals that help address the growth and changes you seek. You are the expert of your life. I aim to provide guidance, compassion, and a nonjudgmental, caring space for you to share your unique experiences, express your feelings, and build greater self-awareness and self-esteem. In therapy, we’ll work to address stressors and obstacles and integrate meaningful changes into your daily life to promote a greater sense of well-being. In building capacity for self-exploration, emotional awareness, and resilience, we can improve our relationships with ourselves and others.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
Person-centered therapy and humanistic-existential approaches, integrated with CBT, Feminist, and Narrative interventions. All informed by social-justice and strengths-based perspectives.
