What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

Cary graduated from John?s Hopkins in 1998 and went directly into a Masters in Social Work program at the University of Maryland. At the time of his graduation from the University of Maryland Cary was a member of the Honor Society with a 4. 0 grade point average. His first of four challenging professional internships began during his undergraduate program in 1996 at the Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Hospital. Cary gained expertise in working with severe psychiatric concerns at the inpatient level learning crucial crisis management skills and effective interventions to increase stabilization and safety for his adult patients. In 1997 Cary began his second internship at the John?s Hopkins Infant Language Institute where he participated in research studies to support the development of language skills for young children. Both of these unique internships began Cary?s foundation for a diverse and broad-reaching clinical background with both adults and children. Once beginning his masters program Cary completed two internships spanning form 1999 to 2001 with the the Family Preservation Program through the Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services and at Woodbourne Day School in Baltimore. In these programs Cary obtained rigorous clinical knowledge in the care and support of children and families.
