What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

I am a psychotherapist licensed in New York State. I trained at Adelphi University, William Alanson White Institute and Ackerman Institute for the Family, which includes in-depth training in mental health counseling, interpersonal psychoanalytic and family therapy theories and practice. The people I have worked with have a variety of difficulties, including experiences of depression, anxiety, migration stress, challenges from minority identity, workplace burnout, couple and parent-child relational problems. I work with clients through a multicultural and interpersonal lens, guiding them to recognize and embrace the strengths they inherently possess. I believe in the therapy room where all emotions and new interpersonal experiences are allowed to happen can free people from their history to live a more fulfilling life.

What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?

A successful treatment would make client feel they have more frequent satisfied social, emotional, and vocational experiences, which can be measured by tangible outcome.

What does a first session with you look like?

The first session we will work together to pinpoint problems and challenges client has and come up with a treatment plan which can be adjusted at any time throughout the treatment.

Education

Adelphi University

I trained at Adelphi University in Mental Health Counseling. During the second year, I completed my internship by providing perinatal clients diagnosed with mood disorder and their infants (0-18 months) with intensive group counseling services at The Child Center of NY, Perinatal program, such as Positive Parenting, CBT, DBT, Mother-Infant Relationship, Anger Management, Life Skills, Mindfulness and Creative Arts. I worked closely with the clinical team at the Perinatal program and helped increase the perinatal caseload from 3 to a whole house. I was also employed as a student worker in the Office of Bridges to Adelphi Program, where I worked with team members to provide Adelphi students who are on the spectrum with assistance. My work required an eye for details, as well as exceptional communication and management skills.

Work History

I had 3-years community clinic experience of working at The Child Center of NY (Flushing clinic), where I worked closely with sufficient support from directors, psychiatrists, supervisor, mental health counselor staff, and nursery staff within the team to provide clients aged from 5 to 75 and their immigrant family with intakes, assessments, crisis interventions, individual and family counseling services.
