What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

I am licensed professional counselor and a certified clinical trauma professional. I am experienced in working with children and adults from diverse backgrounds. My specialties include empowering survivors of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and working with children that have been directly or indirectly abused by domestic violence. I work to address toxic parenting and intergenerational trauma. My research aims to reduce anxiety in children and adolescents post COVID-19. In therapy, I apply an eclecticism perspective drawn from several evidenced-based models, such as CBT, ACT, and DBT. I value using a strengths-based approach and integrating critical neurobiological information into sessions. I also incorporate the work on such topics as love, forgiveness, and compassion for self and others. Some of my hobbies include martial arts, reading classical literature, and spending time with my dogs.
