What is your style/approach to therapy?

My counseling style is non-judgmental, supportive and empowering yet, challenging, educational, rational and strategic. My goal is to assist you express your emotional struggles and guide you to develop personal coping strategies by problem solving, being solution focused, to have confidence, to create realistic expectations and motivate you to think about things differently, positively and feel better about yourself. You just need to trust that you can do it and be willing to make it happen!

In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?

I use communication, understanding and positive energy as the fundamental principals to help and support you to relate to whats happening in your life, to discover what needs to be done and how to get there. I assist you find solutions and work on how to make it happen. I role model, utilize interventions, inquiry and exercises and challenge others to practice exploration and expression of thoughts and feelings in session to develop a better sense of relating to others and improve relationships.

How do you determine therapy goals with clients? What does that process look like?

Durning the intake assessment, information provided by client is discussed to identify and develop the most appropriate and practical treatment goals, to address the greatest areas of concerns.

I am a bilingual, Licensed Clinical Therapist. My primary focus is to help promote change for personal growth and a healthy self-esteem. My goal is not only to get you through this difficult time in your life, but to help you develop ways, to be better able to handle things in the future. I provide therapeutic counseling services to children, adolescents and adults as a Marriage, Family and Child Counselor. My education is in Counseling Psychology and Behavioral Sciences. These experiences have been very helpful in educating others by sharing knowledge and understanding of human behavior. I have been licensed for 7 years, with over 27 years of experience in treating: Adolescent/ Child Behavioral concerns such as: ADHD, Conduct Disorder, Oppositional Defiance, School Issues and Parenting Skills to assist in these areas. Adjustment Disorder, Anger Management, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders and Intermittent Explosive Disorder. Mood Disorders such as: Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Dysthymia, Major Depressive Disorder, and/or Grief, Loss and Bereavement. Codependency, Divorce, Domestic Violence, Family Conflict, Marital Problems, Parent/ Child Problems, Career/ Work Related Issues and Relationship Challenges. Addictions, Alcohol/ Substance Abuse, Eating, Gambling, Porn, Low Self Esteem, Self-Harming Behavior, Sexual Abuse, Insomnia, Spirituality, Stress, Suicidal Ideation and Trauma ‘Post Traumatic Stress Disorder’. Counseling theory approaches I use most frequently are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy and Client-Centered Therapy which are tailored to your specific needs.
