Work HistoryWelcome! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California and have been practicing since 2013. I have an undergraduate degree from the University of California at San Diego and a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from National University, from which I graduated Summa cum Laude. Prior to opening my private practice, I was a therapist for South Bay Community Services, where I led domestic violence treatment for children and worked with the police department in their juvenile diversion program. I later completed my internship at Family Health Centers of San Diego, where I served as a school-based therapist helping at-risk children and families meet students' emotional, behavioral, and social goals.
I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and am nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am certified in Positive Discipline therapy and integrate parent/caregiver coaching into my work with children.
I believe a healthy body leads to a healthy mind. When applicable, I utilize a holistic approach and incorporate mindfulness and positive lifestyle modification (such as sleep, exercise, time in nature, and nutrition) into treatment. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and completed an eight week intensive certification course in Health and Wellness: Designing a Sustainable Nutrition Plan from Harvard University School of Medicine.
I served on the Board of the California Association for Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) San Diego, and volunteer as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate with foster youth. When not with clients, I love cooking, yoga, gardening, and reading books on the couch with my best cat friend, Henry.
