What does a first session with you look like?
Our first session will be used as a information gathering session. It will be more structured than a typical session because during intake, specific questions are asked. Thereafter, each session can flow based on what one may bring to session or based on an identified goal. Sessions can be fluid, where we may have a plan to discuss one thing, but then, life happens and so the session focus will shift to what's going on currently.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I utilize talk therapy with modalities of CBT, Motivation Interview, Person Centered and overall narrative and the psycho dynamic experience. There may be times where it may be suggested to sit in meditation together to allow for silencing of the mind and total relaxation to aid in the process. If you had any spiritual beliefs, I am open to learning and can support you as you incorporate that into your healing journey.
