What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I am a listener. I expect my clients to work on their stated goals for therapy whether short or long term. My work is to guide, reflect and teach strategies that work for my clients. I believe everyone has strategies that can work for them and that is where they take the lead. I am here to give out the tools, some work, some do not. You decide.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
Therapy does not mean there is something "wrong" with you! We all experience ridges and valleys in our lives, it can be challenging. Support, guidance and positive strategies can be a great gift to help you in the present.
What does a first session with you look like?
Our first session is my opportunity to get to know you. I ask a lot of questions and allow you the opportunity to tell me your history and current functioning and the things that are important to you. I am interested in your goals for therapy.
