Are there any recurring themes or issues you’ve noticed as you treat people in your area of specialization, and how has this insight guided your approach?

My work with individuals, couples and families brings me to the realization that most people seeking therapy have a past wound that needs healing, closure. Life’s stresses, experiences, and transitions sometimes bring this wound to the surface. With this in mind, I work with my clients using both "emotional" and "practical" interventions; while providing practical tools to best cope with and handle tough situations. Another approach I use is creating a trusting environment (where the client can feel safe and supported). This type of environment is crucial in reaching one's therapy goals!

If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?

A few things I'd love for you to know about this therapy venture: It is a worthwhile, validating and eye-opening experience! (Believe me, I’ve done my own work with a therapist!) Much is taken in, explored, and clarified in the therapeutic relationship. You have the space to do just that. Therapy offers a new or different perspective that can bring awareness and healing. Lastly, it’s a sacred place where one is heard, seen, and understood. All this leads to consistent and rewarding progress toward your goals!

What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

My own life experiences, professional training, and healing work with clients enables me to guide you towards a better life involving healing and personal growth. I realize making the commitment to do therapy is huge, and may feel risky. Know it’s an honor for me to work with you, and to offer a different, new perspective. I also can provide you with useful tools to implement in all areas of your life.

Work History

Seeds were planted in me years ago towards becoming a therapist. Because of personal experiences, including experiences I lived and witnessed with loved ones; I wanted to help others like me heal. I wanted to offer new ways of coping and living. As a young parent I started a mom's support group in my area. In my career (at the time) I found myself working with families, individuals, and students needing additional support, resources, and guidance with challenging obstacles and situations. I love working with parents, couples, with individuals, young adults, and adolescents. As a therapist these past 7 years, my work with clients runs the gamut- from PTSD and other trauma and stress-related issues, anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, bipolar disorder, relationship struggles, to women’s issues. I love helping others find their best path. It's an honor to do so.
