What’s the most profound, insightful, or interesting thing you’ve learned as a mental health professional?
It is so much easier to give compassion, empathy and grace to others. An individual often struggles with how to turn that same action and treatment inward. We will often go out of our way for friends or loved ones; to check on them, to assist them, to support them. But for ourselves, we often are at a loss on how to do the same.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I do not think of therapy as an alphabet soup of treatment modalities, instead I view the modalities as components of my client centered tool box. Therapy is a process that is individualized, a working relationship between therapist and client. It is not cookie cutter, it is not linear, it changes and reformulates as needed to the benefit of the client. I seek out knowledge on a regular basis, so that I can continue to hone my technique and enhance my areas of specialty so that I can assist my clients to reach their goals.
What does a first session with you look like?
Our first session will be focused on me getting to know you and the reasons you sought out therapy. It will also be the individual getting to know me, obtaining a feel of my style and approach. We will devise a plan together, establishing a guide, if you will, on how to proceed toward your goals.

Work History
I have been in the field of helping children and families for over 15 years. During that time I have assisted my clients with parenting skills, with anger management, with teen pregnancy, with fertility concerns, with the loss of a baby, child, parent or another loved one, with anxiety, with depression, with life changes/realizations and more. The work that I have done, the additional knowledge that I have sought out, has given me a solid foundation to enhance my work with clients.
