Education
College of St Cahterine/University of St. Thomas, Master of Social Work, Children and adolescent therapy, 2007 — -During my schooling I focused on classes that included adolescent and child treatment with a secondary focus on family dynamics. -Since graduating, I have received my certificate for ADHD and specialize in this type of individual and family therapy, including a collaborative approach with medical providers and schools when requested. -My thesis was focused on effective treatment for eating disorders.
Work HistoryI started my career working in-home personal care in my under-graduate years of schooling (BSW). From there I have worked in locations ranging from an adolescent juvenile facility to a methadone dosing clinic, to out-patient case management services for severe and persistent mental illness. I then stayed home with my children for 9 years, when my youngest, myself and then my oldest son were all diagnosed with ADHD. This is where my passion stems from, for ADHD and neurodiversity. I live and breathe ADHD and want to provide evidenced based care for those dealing with similar circumstances. I also believe this allows me to have a stronger connection or insight into life experiences and how the symptomology impacts it.
