Caregiver stress & support
Caring for a friend or family member (paid or unpaid) includes emotional support, housework, help with finances, medication management, and shopping. Can be stressful, making caregivers more vulnerable to things like anxiety, isolation, and fatigue.
Medical professionals' mental health
Many medical professionals have extremely difficult jobs. When the result of one’s work is a matter of life or death, stress is typical. Medical professionals’ mental health is oftentimes impacted by experiencing vicarious trauma, working long hours, feeling underpaid or unappreciated, and believing that the well-being of others is more important than their own. This may lead toward distress, compromised performance, resentment, poor mental and/or physical health, and burnout.

Work History
I started working in a hospital setting, helping families and patients living with a chronic illness at the Hospital for Special Surgery. I realized I loved working with families, teens, and young adults, so I began seeing clients at a mental health clinic in Sunnyside, Queens as well. It was extremely rewarding, especially because I grew up in the neighborhood. I worked with teens in high school and helped them transition into college, while helping couples and families cope with life changes and all the adjustments we have to make. Throughout my journey, I made incredible connections and I found myself at Make-A-Wish as the Regional Director of Medical Outreach. I met the most amazing families and helped them navigate a very scary journey. Together, we pushed through the most difficult times. There were many happy endings and celebrations. I now have a private practice in Astoria, Queens, and enjoy working with kids, families, teens, young adults navigating life.
