Sexuality Based Issues
Sexuality refers to habits and preferences in terms of sexual behavior, which people express in many ways. Issues in this area may be related to confusion or distress about sexuality or sexual identity.
Sexual health & dysfunction
Sexual health and dysfunction go well beyond the physical but into the cognitive, social and spiritual/religious domains of our being. Being sexually healthy entails feeling comfortable with one’s sexuality. This includes identity, orientation, performance, self-esteem, choice of partner(s), et cetera. It also includes congruence between one’s actions and personal values. Dysfunction may occur when one struggles with any aspect of sexuality and/or may entail a physical complication.
Substance abuse
Substance abuse is the intentional misuse of a substances (e.g., alcohol, prescription drugs, OTC medications, recreational and street drugs, household chemicals). This may include binge drinking or taking twice the prescribed dose of painkillers. For substances considered illegal and/or extremely detrimental to well-being, using even once may be considered substance abuse. Because of the addiction potential for many substances, abuse oftentimes leads to addiction.

Work History
I’ve worked in the mental health field since 2006. I have experience working with families, individuals, and couples. My passion is working with sex and intimacy issues. I’m an advocate for stigma-free discussions about sex and intimacy. I strongly feel that sexual health is an important component of mental health. I have worked with substance abuse issues since 2014. I understand the hold drugs and alcohol can have on a person and how they can affect so many areas in a person’s life.
