If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?

One thing I wish people knew about therapy is that this is their space to say what they want to feel, think, and believe without being judged or it leaving the room.

In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?

I grew up in the inner city of New Orleans, Louisiana and in our community, therapy was frowned upon. However, many of us, especially after Hurricane Katrina, needed a place to learn, grow, and heal. I learned that the anger may not be just anger but instead sadness or grief. I learned those behavioral problems may just be a response to trauma or request for help to understand the material. There is always more to someone story and journey!

In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?

Building rapport is the most important part of the therapeutic relationship. My personality some would describe as warm and say I am a social butterfly. It allows me to build a relationship with anyone and provide that safe space needed to help client's meet their goals.

Work History

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Louisiana and Texas and provide therapy to anyone in need of a safe space for learning, understanding, support, healing, and growth. I hold a Master in Science in Counseling with a dual specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marital, Couples, and Family Therapy. Throughout this journey, I have provided individual, family, couples, and group therapy in the home, community, academic, office, and online setting. I have significant training in trauma focused care and have provided Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to children as young as 5 years of age. Though I am heavily trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Strategic Family Therapy, I take an integrative approach to therapy which means I provide the best course of treatment, approach, and interventions for my client(s).
