What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
My goal is to help each of my client's work through the issues and problems that are hindering them. Focusing on helping each person, family, etc. to reach their goals and become the version of themselves they are comfortable with/proud of in a safe environment without judgement and empowering the client to take control of their lives.
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
I have experience working with families and children on various levels. I use to be a teacher and worked closely with families and children from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. I have also worked in and out patient drug/alcohol treatment as well as I do interventions so I have a clear understanding of how addiction effects the entire family unit. I have worked in pediatric and adult oncology supporting not only individuals that have been diagnosed with cancer but also the caregivers. I have also worked in dialysis supporting patients and families. I believe that my wide variety of experience help me to help my patients reach their goals.
What does a first session with you look like?
The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other. Understand the client's needs and goals in a safe and supportive environment. This session is used to assess how we can work together in a successful manner to provide necessary help and support.
