What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
Firstly, I really love what I do (as a counselor) and I actually feel privileged and honored to be in relationship with you. Hearing your issues does not burden me. Instead, they challenge me to do my best in helping you find solutions to your problems. Secondly, I value and take very seriously the time that is allotted for your therapy. You can expect me to give you my undivided attention, while also providing insight into the challenges that you are facing. Lastly, expect to be challenged. I will either encourage you to try something new, or to test out your own theories and/ideas.
What excites you most about the evolving mental health landscape?
The fact that I can connect with all kinds of people from diverse backgrounds so easily within the comfort of their own home/space.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach to therapy is integrative, which means that I will draw from different approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy (to name a few) to help facilitate change. I would also say that my approach is generally collaborative. I work with you, the client, to find solutions to your problems. If you are unable to determine what the problem is, or what it is that you are trying to work on, I will serve as a mentor/guide to help you determine those unknowns. Throughout our time together, I will provide you with appropriate feedback to help enhance awareness and insight. Also, I will provide a judgement free, confidential space where you can easily share, while working together with me to determine your strengths and next best step to take.

Work History
My experience started at a non-profit organization for women. There, I counseled on an individual, group and couple basis. Provided counseling that focused on women issues as related to child-bearing, -care, as well as parenting and relationships issues. Counseling was usually initiated via crisis counseling, as the women usually came in with an impending issue. I have also provided counseling at a private practice. There, I provided individual counseling that focused on relational issues in the home and at the work place. Lastly, I have worked with families and children via individual/family sessions (with child and/or respective caregiver). Focus of sessions was on child's mental health and caregiver's way of engaging with child, with the goal of mitigating negative behaviors.
