What should we know about your experiences and background?

My journey of living with chronic illness since early adolescence has allowed me to understand first hand a great deal of challenges that one goes through during the diagnosis and prognosis phases of treatment. The grief that you face when the life you might have imagined you would have are not going to be met and you need to learn a new normal. In addition the mental health challenges that you navigate as you age and try and live with an illness that most often is not seen on the outside. I have also been in the position of being a caregiver and the unique aspects of burn out and stress that accompanies your act of being there for your loved one. I am not going to say that every past will be similar to mine but I will provide unique empathy.
