In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
I approach life through a holistic lens. The intersection of mind body and spirit needs to be examined when treating an individual. Mental health challenges can usually manifest in physical health problems and vice versa. Treating a client as a whole person is the most effective way of getting life's energy back in a healthy balance.
What does a first session with you look like?
Welcome to therapy! A first session with me feels like you are making plans to go on a vacation that you have always dreamed of. I will be your tour guide and vacation specialist to help you navigate the exciting journey that is your life. Working collaboratively with you to determine what your therapeutic goals are and helping you create fundamental behavioral changes are paramount discussions for the first session.
What’s the most profound, insightful, or interesting thing you’ve learned as a mental health professional?
What I have learned over the years is that there is no cookie cutter approach to recovery from life's traumas. Everyone experiences life differently so everyone heals differently as well. The ability to teach tenacity, resiliency, and adaptive healthy coping skills are the goals of my therapeutic work.
