What is your style/approach to therapy?
My style in therapy is to create a safe space for clients to share what is going on in their lives, what created a desire in them to seek therapy. My goal is to foster a mutually respectful and safe relationship to explore what is going on today, learn from the past, and prepare for the future.
What does a first session with you look like?
A first session with me looks like reviewing the intake paperwork, identifying goals, building rapport, and nurturing the client/therapist relationship.
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
I believe one of the biggest barriers to seeking care is fear of judgment. I strive to keep a judgment free space, and meet my clients with compassion, grace and understanding. Another barrier to consider is fear: fear of change, fear of accepting reality, fear of being out of control, and various other ways fear manifests itself.
