Work HistoryI am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, International Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I hold a Master of Arts in Urban Community Counseling from Norfolk State University. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship concerns, mood disorders, disruptive behaviors, self-esteem, and trauma. I also have experience working with adults and their families, as well as individuals and families with autism spectrum disorders. I have been utilizing skills from treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Therapy, Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness-based interventions. A handful of these practices were taught while providing Mental Health Skill building services (adults), Intensive in-home services (adolescent), outpatient therapy (children, adolescents, and adults), Intensive Outpatient groups and Outpatient groups (substance use), as well as providing individual substance use therapy within a juvenile detention center.
