What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I am a clinical therapist and a Christian therapist. I am down to earth and I do not jump right into therapy but first like to get to know you, make you feel comfortable and then see where we need to go with your concerns. I include you in all aspects of the therapy because this is your life and you came for help. I also like to add some laughter into the sessions. The issues are intense and scary and or stressful enough so laughter helps. I am also not from Florida but from Buffalo New York and I love my Buffalo Bills and the mafia. I go to Buffalo once a year and go to a game with friends from high school.
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
I spent many years suffering with depression. I no longer have that issue but can relate to those who do. I also have anxiety and it can be challenging at times. I have family members with mental illness and know that it can be challenging to get through the day some days. I have a calling to help others and their hurts and hangups. I want everyone to find peace within themselves and be happy.

Work History
I started my career working with a population having developmental and mental health challenges. I decided after a lot of praying that I wanted to get my master's degree and be a counselor for that population. God had other plans for me. God directed me to work with a population that was in need. That population is in corrections. I have had the opportunity to work with those who self-harm, are depressed and or anxious, have low self-esteem, have personality disorders, have psychotic disorders, challenging irrational beliefs and mood disorders. I also have had the opportunity to work in a state hospital with those with the same struggles.I believe that God is moving me into another direction at this time and as many know, with change comes anxiety due to the unknown so most of us deal with some type of anxiety and depression during our lifetime. I have been told by those I know and those I have just met that I am a good listener and empathetic. I care about people and want them to feel free to be open and know that there will be no judgement. I am not here to judge anyone but instead have an open mind and work with you to see you overcome the struggles that life brings. I believe in treating others with respect, dignity and compassion. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, client-centered, and motivational interviewing. I believe that each person is unique and what works for one person may not work for another so all treatment is based on the individual. I look forward to meeting you and working with you
