What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
I think there is still a great deal of stigma and shame that is attached to going for help.
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
As a child and an adult, I struggled to understand the effects of trauma within my own life experiences and became passionate about believing in the ability to heal from the profound effects of trauma and be able to reclaim your life as a result.
How do you determine therapy goals with clients? What does that process look like?
Therapy goals are set collaboratively; the work is the two of us as a team to support you together. I will work with you to help move you forward with meeting your goals

Work History
My 24 year clinical work history has included working with individuals and families with substance use disorders, including management of a 160 bed residential facility for people with co-occurring disorders, counseling youth, and aiding in the assistance given to survivors of Hurricane Sandy. In addition, for the last four years I have been utilizing and developing my clinical skills working at private practice. Although I do possess expertise in dealing with addiction issues, I also have developed a specialty in working with trauma and family issues as well.
