In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
My own personal experiences that has influenced my work with my clients has been my travels and watching and interacting with the different peole in my life. Since I have seen so many different people throghout my growing up years ( Military Brat) and adulthood, I think people are fascinating.. In addition to my counseling practiceof 40 years, I have always loved to paint. For most of my life, I have managed to paint and have become a professional artist. This gives my brain a great "outlet". I paint wildlife scenes, peoples pets and portraits.

Work History
I am a Military Brat and I have lived in may states throughout the US and I have lived in many places in Europe. I like the many diverse people that I have met. I have about 40 years of experience in the mental health field and I love it. My approach in therapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and just plain common sense. My specialties are depression, anxiety ,bipolar and family issues. I initially inform my clients that therapy is hard work. Then I ask my clients what they would like to achieve in therapy (goal oriented ).Together we work towards that goal. I do not assign "busy:" homework but work that is taylored to that individual. This has been very rewardiong to my clients. They have told me they feel a sense of accomplishment.
