What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
I think one of the barriers to seeking care today is time and location. That is why I am excited to be a part of the online therapy community. Being able to speak to someone from the comfort of your home, without navigating traffic, in and of itself, can reduce stress and promote healing.
What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?
A key component in the therapeutic relationship is feeling comfortable and safe within the session. My honest and open communication style coupled with my sincerity and compassion I strive to make each client feel empowered to open up and share of themselves.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My therapeutic style/approach to therapy is eclectic. I value blending components from different approaches to tailor the session according to each client's needs. I am passionate about using psychoanalysis to help others grow and change by discovering their unconscious. I enjoy working in a close relationship with clients to help them learn about themselves. I also provide skill based treatment to focus on changing problematic thoughts, feelings and behaviors using CBT. I believe that by changing unhelpful or negative thoughts, people can change how they feel which can influence how they behave.
