Learn more about my:
What does a first session with you look like?
Our first session will be us getting to know each other and you deciding if I am a good fit for you. The first session is when I like to evaluate for a mental health diagnosis and explore the major issues that have brought you into therapy today. I use a family systems perspective so I like to explore past family dynamics as well within this first session and any current relationships. At the end of the session we will make goals for therapy so that I can create for you a beneficial treatment plan.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My style and approach to therapy is gentle yet direct in order to create a safe space for my clients to be themselves, but to also provide them with motivation and direction towards growth.
What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?
I view trust as a key component in the therapeutic relationship. Trusting to be understood and held within a safe therapeutic environment where there is no judgment only empathy and compassion is key. When there is trust between client and therapist then real growth is able to blossom and new levels of change can emerge.
