What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?
I see the key component of therapy as trust. A client can trust that I am present for them in each session. That I bring with me care and an analytical eye so that their problem can be addressed. Having the trust of my clients pushes me to continue developing myself professionally. I work hard to maintain that trust, to maintain a warm and beneficial therapeutic relationship and to assist them in moving forward. Also, through that trust, honest feedback can be given so that the therapeutic experience can be the best fit for the client.
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
Many people, especially those seeking therapy for the first time, are intimidated and do not know what to expect. I understand that it can be difficult to trust another individual with your struggles and that saying them out loud to a stranger, and getting vulnerable, can be very uncomfortable in the beginning. That is why I do my best to ensure you feel comfortable and in a safe space, where you will be able to process through whatever challenge you are facing.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I not only focus and address presenting symptoms, but the underlying root causes that contribute to difficulties leading a happy and fulfilling life. We work together to help you to achieve a healthy body, mind, and soul!
