Accepting New Clients

Get To Know Me
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
If someone is hesitant about therapy, I would let them know they are worth putting forth the effort. Sometimes our fears or apprehensions of things can seem so loud but these are just habits that have been programmed over time. I would invite the person to accept the reality of any fear or concern that might be stopping the process and explaining to themselves that they valuable and they deserve to do good things for themselves.
What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
The person I am working with will find a better outlook and feel more positive. We can use assessments and check ins to monitor the person's progress towards growth. Ideally, the person is going to experience more motivation and even more hopeful.
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
I had a difficult upbringing and have seen firsthand what is required to make major life changes. I use first hand experience guided by my education to help people accomplish their goals.
