Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Throughout my lifetime I was the go to person for advice and assistance. While serving in the military I began a deeper understanding for sexual trauma, depression, suicide, and domestic violence through my soldiers experiences. Having to address these things as a leader gave me the desire to learn more so I can be of better service to people.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
I look for the positive in every situation and as a therapist I attempt to show my clients how to do the same. I'm solution focused, so this allows me to focus on the solution instead of the problem to help the client develop healthy coping skills in their day to day activities.
How do you determine therapy goals with clients? What does that process look like?
Therapy goals are a joint process between the client and the therapist. I assist with identifying presenting problems, while the client and myself collaborate on identifying goals to address the problems.
